Payment Processor Problem
« on: April 24, 2012, 12:48:21 AM »
We have some bad news, BMT Micro is going to close our account.

First they allow Paypal for adult content, and if you've noticed, recently they disable Google Checkout, Amazon Payment and Paypal from adult-material software.

And last night I got an email saying that they're going to close our account, starting next May. Apparently, they no longer support adult material, saying that it doesn't go the same direction that the company want to grow :(

I remember spending so much time looking for a payment processor that will take adult digital material. I don't understand why it's so hard in the Western countries where commercial pornography is accepted :(  In Japan it's so much easier because of Digiket, Surpara, DLSite, etc... I'm starting to understand why Japanese people don't internationalize their stuffs now.

I'm going to have a talk with my team about this. Maybe this is a good time for a change.

So, I'm going to disable all shareware games on our site for now.

Don't worry, I am not giving up on delivering bara game to the English speaking audience! I'll find one way or another :)  Though I need a break right now. It was sudden and unexpected.

Take care, guys

Have a nice break :3

Is it too much of a problem to just accept the money manually?
Team Gachi Muchi Kun doesn't use third party banking sites, but the only drawback is that you'd have to wait 2 days at most to receive their game since they don't have an automated system.

They're taking a risk as well, actually. Paypal prohibit any adult related transaction. It's just Paypal hasn't checked their account yet. But we never knew when will they do. It's too risky and I don't want to risk losing my account ^ ^;

I see...well, someone should start up a banking site that allows paid transactions for pornography, lol.

Guess Digiket doesn't accept Paypal, huh?

Unfortunately, no. And they only take Japanese credit cards @_@. Stuffs selling on there must be censored by Japanese law. And not to mention almost 30% margin they take... Ughhh

They're sneaking behind Paypal's back. Some won't mention anything about the payment except it's payment own or services without going into details. They usually don't have many transactions in a month to raise suspicious. However, there are cases that someone who hate the artist report to Paypal and got the artist account frozen.

Also, Paypal only handling the paying part. With BMTMicro, the file will be automatically send to the customer. We can also refund easily through BMTMicro so we can focus more on making game and not sending files >_<

Good news though. BMT Micro just sent me an email saying that they'll extend the deadline to the 31st of May. They'll announce whether the adult content will be gone for good or not by the 15th.

I asked Mogmog to enable the sharewares back on. They'll be on until May 15th. I have also talked to Take-san about this and about the alternative. I can't say anything specific right now but if BMT Micro will make the adult material gone for good, then it will be a push for me to go into a new direction.

Guess you'll have to stop making pornographic games if worst comes to worst, huh?

Well, maybe you can try to make a games that revolves around a gay character that isn't trying to have sex with anything that moves or just cumming on themselves?  Lol, that was such a feminist thing I just said X3

How was that a feminist thing? I don't think it was... lol

Anyway, I hope that doesn't mean not being able to sell eroge anymore. There's surely some way. I just don't know what.
