Title: Bastard Bonds
Post by: Wild Wolf on May 21, 2014, 06:00:05 PM
Hey, guys, guess what?   ::)

I just found out today that Captaingerbear is currently working on a new "relatively small project" called Bastard Bonds; his first pixel-art game.  He hasn't given any details as to what the game is about or what the gameplay will be like, but he did post some sketches and pixels of four characters on his tumblr account: captaingerbear.tumblr.com (http://captaingerbear.tumblr.com).  I will be sure to inform you guys of any updates he makes pertaining to this topic here and, if you want, you can follow his tumblr account for quicker updates.

I am so excited for this game already!!   ;D

P.S.  Did I forget to mention he plans to have it finished sometime this summer?   ;)

Sounds cool. I loved "See No Evil" and have messed around a bit with the football stalker game, so I know anything that CGB does ought to be good. I just wish he got around to finishing Chub Pan before starting another project...or at least updating the demo with any new content he might've added since uploading the first one.

Well, DFC, the situation is that Captaingerbear intends to release Chubpan as a free project rather than a profit project.  In order for that to happen, he has to make a profit from the games he plans to sell first so he can invest his time, effort, and sale dividends into Chubpan.  According to his own words on his tumblr account, he treats Chubpan as a "hobby" and he is obligated to keep it as a free-to-play project or else the composer who makes the music for the game will not lend CGB the rights to his music.

I hope that has cleared up any misconceptions.  CGB gets asked this question too many times.   ::)

So, now that it is out, anyone get it yet?
or even finish it?

I bought it myself, though I am currently stuck later in the game with no idea what to do or where to go XD

Being a fan of See No Evil (and will gladly wait however long it takes for the sequel :-P) I'll eventually get this one, even if there's no porn in it. It looks like a great tactical RPG-ish thing.

It is, really fun and addicting
though I do have a rather big complaint in that some of see no evil's puzzle logic is used in this game
only its much worst here because you literally got over 200 different areas to visit

hell, I am currently stuck at what I assume to be the very end of the game because I have absolutely no idea where to go or what to do outside of a few cryptic in game clues that I just cannot unravel no matter how hard I try

though I do have to admit some of this might be up to each individual person and how they process puzzles and such
(and in my case I completely fail at the type of stuff used in bastard bonds for the most part)

If anyone needs help with Nazar's events I can point out some of the important ones, though I have yet to fully finish his questline (think I am on the last point of it, but, much like the main quest, have absolutely no idea where to go to progress it)

I finished the game earlier today, though I know for sure there's a ton of stuff I missed. You don't need to do everything to finish, though I'm assuming a lot of things affect the actual ending.
I could use some help with the Nazar events. I didn't even know there were Nazar events other than his fireside talk.

Apologies for the late reply, forgot to check this thread for a while
was finally able to finish the game
turns out it had glitched for me and an area that was supposed to appear did not -_-

as for Nazar, which part of his quest are you stuck in?

I've been playing this game in my free time too. It's so much fun! Especially the character creation. I'll post some of my characters here later XD
